putting a song on a program

how and where do I go to put a song onto scratch from, say, youtube? how do I save it to my computer?

First download the video from Youtube (There are many ways to do this, just google it) and convert the file to a .mp3 . Then import that sound into Scratch.

Some .mp3 files don't work in Scratch though. If that happens, convert the file to a .wav (again, Google it). Then it should definitely work in Scratch.  smile

You can use Audacity to convert mp3s into wav files. There are lots of online YouTube to MP3 converters (Keepvid, Mp3ify, YouTube to MP3, just to name a few).

Another way: say there's a page that has that little mp3 player in the middle and is black otherwise: right click the mp3 thing and (I have Windows, dunno about Mac) and select "save video as", and there's your mp3 file.
