"It's time to bring out the trollface."

Let's imagine, for a moment, that anyone who played Halo would go around killing people. And let's see... according to Wikipedia, Halo has sold over 4 million copies world wide. That's a lot of serial killers, most of them... young children.

Oh, so you say Halo isn't that violent? Well, nobody can defy the violence of, say, hmm, Left 4 Dead. Left 4 Dead has sold 2.5 million copies. Not including the Steam sales, which are maybe 45%. Oh yes, this is news from 2009. Early 2009.

Argument rendered invalid. Trollface complete.

Not really, the last person alive who fought in WW1 died a few months ago, and in an interview he said that its not as mentally inflicting as people think. Its plain shoot or be shot.

Off topic: I might send you a FR in XBOX live. if it's Halorocks1337, then it's me.

On topic: If the person in question can understand the barriers that surround reality and fiction and understand the morality and effects of thier actions in that if they kill someone in real life that it isn't the case that they will "Respawn", then no.

Re: Does Playing Violent Video Games Create Violent Behavior?

I've asked my parents about this and they say "yes". It's really weird, though, that I'm allowed to play Resident Evil, which is about blowing the heads of zombies and possessed people, and yet I'm not allowed to play games like Call of Duty...  hmm

Re: Does Playing Violent Video Games Create Violent Behavior?

I don't think they do.  My childhood (without video games of any sort) was a lot more violent than what I've observed of my children's childhood (with video games of all sorts - including violent ones).

I think violent behavior comes out in children when it is tolerated (or demonstrated) by the adults around them, not by what video games they play.  I must point out that my opinions are based purely on my non-scientific observations of a very small data set.

It kind of looks like you're trying to continue an argument that is already over...and I believe your statement is more than a bit of an exaggeration.  Let's continue this discussion in a polite fashion please.

I think if its at a development age, like in middle school, early high school, or late elementary school, it can affect how one thinks.

Younger players would usually find themselves acting unrationally, as the game does.
