Wow. I saw you once before. Then you disappeared off the face of Scratch. Now, you just randomly reappear. How strange. Anyways, glad you're back!![]()
Thanks! I used to come on quite a lot, but school doesn't allow me anymore.

The same goes for that, although you should probably not mention that on here.
Wait, hang on, no, what!?!?! Please don't tell me you actually agree with my above statement?!?! I was being sarcastic! Joking! Making a point! Please don't tell me you think [inappropriate stuff] is ok!

If you've never even played the game, don't make ignorant claims about it!!! It's like hearing a movie has violent scenes, and then claiming "Oh my god! This movie has nothing but violence in it. If someone watches it, they will automatically become a mass murderer! Call 911! Now now now!" without even seeing the movie.
You'd be hard pressed to find where I said or implied that in my post, because I didn't.

Now it seems about right, after I edited it. ^-^
But seriously, don't talk about stuff on a children's forum, you little rebel. >.>
Sorry.

Let me put this simply for you:
Violence in video games + Violence in life > Violence in life

Kids are already going to know about this stuff, and may feel pressured to do it, so parents might as well just let them play and actually EDUCATE them about violence, instead of trying to hide them from it.
Blowing zombies to bits is educating them? Well, I never would have guessed.

sorry but that little equation of yours makes absolutely no sense.
Violence in video games + Mentally Ill = Violence in real life

You were saying that "It's already to going to be "fueled" from the stuff people say at school." I was saying that violence in video games + what you said about school and such-what is more than just that thing about school.

I think we're taking this a little too seriously. The chance of becoming a mass murderer from a video game is simply zilch.
While 'blowing the head of zombies' (as a lot of us has put it) isn't the most education thing, it gives a chance to socialize, let out anger, have some fun. Relax. The chance of a young gamer who plays violent games will be influenced when he's older is low. Very low.

It wasn't aimed at you, it was just a general opinion.

Well quoting someone does give the impression that your aiming at their comment, but enough. I won't press any further.

So wrapping up:
Only play games that you are legally allowed to play, or with your parents permission
Playing shooters, or games with violence, won't make you a murderer
Dudes like shooting the heads off of zombies
Well that was fun.

That last statement is only true concerning some people, not everyone.

I never said that the video game itself was educational (well video games can help with certain skills, such as hand-eye coordination, but the violence in it isn't educational). I said that the PARENTS get their kid and TALK to them about why what you see in the video game (or in the movie, song, TV show) isn't okay. For most mature kids, that will be enough. I don't have a degree in psychology or anything like that, but I have done some research, and I know a psychologist who agrees with me. I'm not saying give a 5 year old Grand Theft Auto 3. I'm saying that by the time you're an older kid or teenager, you get the whole "reality" and "fantasy" concept, and you are mature enough to know right from wrong, and at that point censoring them is ONLY necessary if it's something that would be extreme to the point of being traumatizing them.

I presume you're talking about Assassin's Creed. If so, then that is the point of the game, right? I mean, you're an assassin. The point is to kill people. Why would you even want to play something like that? You enjoy playing games where you have the pleasure of pretending to murder people? Anyone who enjoys playing those types of games is in my opinion slightly sadistic. Its people like this who probably have never played nor tried a "sadistic" game.
As sanddude said, yes, you are correct. I don't buy or play video games which involves committing serious acts of violence.
Then you have no right to critisize them.

Why?
How can you say "Pizza tastes terrible" if you've never eaten it? How can you say exams are easy if you haven't had one yet?
So how can you say a violent video game is bad and is for sadistic people if you've never played it?

1) I constantly see adverts for them on TV or the computer.
2) I once unwittingly saw gameplay footage of Assassin's Creed.
3) I suppose they're rated 16/18/whatever because you have to shoot fluffy bunnies with knock-out darts?

We're talking about the violence, not the gameplay. If a game is rated 16/18/whatever, than evidently it has violence in it. Or sexual content, or profanity, or drug use or whatever. It obviously has SOMETHING bad in it to make it a 16/18/whatever.
