why do some projects load for a long time?
sometimes when I click on projects it loads and when it looks like it's done loading,nothing happens.and this is just for some projects.is this happening to anybody else? and what is causing it? thanks,

Usually it's because the project is a larger file size that has trouble running as well in the Java player. When that happens, you'll have to download the project to view it.

gettysburg11 nailed it.
Interesting fact: music/sound files are nasty for causing long loading times. If you don't want people to wait forever for your projects to load, don't fill it with lots of sounds 
I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Apart from what gettysburg11 suggested, you might want to try expanding Java's heap memory, I actually found that quite effective.
I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>Offline
