Though I am not one that believes video games discourage violence, I certainly do not believe they encourage it in real life. You may point to cases like the unfortunate shootings during the 90s involving teenagers which was connected to video games in the media as causing the behaviors. I believe instead that some violent video games may instead just attract people who already have the behavior. Not to say all people who play Call of Duty are psychos, quite the contrary, I know many, many well-adjusted people who play titles such as Call of Duty. (Though you may not be able to believe it looking at the typical match, I will admit.)
When you said "quite" were you agreeing with me not not?
I said "quiet." As in "Shhhhh."

Oh!!!! That makes a lot more sense! lol. So, what does that mean?
You mean you agree with me but don't want to admit that what I said was right?

I presume you're talking about Assassin's Creed. If so, then that is the point of the game, right? I mean, you're an assassin. The point is to kill people. Why would you even want to play something like that? You enjoy playing games where you have the pleasure of pretending to murder people? Anyone who enjoys playing those types of games is in my opinion slightly sadistic.
Its people like this who probably have never played nor tried a "sadistic" game.
As sanddude said, yes, you are correct. I don't buy or play video games which involves committing serious acts of violence.

If you've never even played the game, don't make ignorant claims about it!!! It's like hearing a movie has violent scenes, and then claiming "Oh my god! This movie has nothing but violence in it. If someone watches it, they will automatically become a mass murderer! Call 911! Now now now!" without even seeing the movie.
The only serious acts of violence that are being committed are against video game sprites. I guess we should start holding funerals for video game sprites, then? Of course not.

It lets you get out your angry feelings without actually hurting anybody, oh genius.

Yeah, but you don't need to FUEL it!
It's already to going to be "fueled" from the stuff people say at school. Kids are already going to know about this stuff, and may feel pressured to do it, so parents might as well just let them play and actually EDUCATE them about violence, instead of trying to hide them from it. If they're not prepared to talk about this stuff to their kids, that they aren't prepared to be parents. Simple as that.
NOTE: The post you just saw has had all the explicit language cut out. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

This would make a pretty epic trailer fro TF2 if 'All Your Base' wasn't trademarked.
Just found this epic video.

He meant "Shut up, that argument is stupid." I'm just paraphrasing for him but don't blame me for asking for translation.
He just meant that violent titles probably only encourage such behavior if the person already has homicidal tendencies.

No. I disagreed in every way and wanted you to stop yelling nonsense.

If your complaining about Call of Duty being too violent, you should also complain about Chess. Because they are both war games. I don't care if the violence is more graphic in Call of Duty; it's the same exact idea.

Exactly. Only I don't think they hone the pre-existing tendency either. Just attract people with the problem.

So, you should let out your [inappropriate] feelings by looking up [inappropriate stuff]? Yes, what a great way to learn self control.

The same goes for that, although you should probably not mention that on here.

Wow you guys are going way off-topic :L someone make a topic about video game violence?
Anyways, how about you show them trailers or download and let them play the game first? And if they dont think it's suitable, then that's their final say!
Just let them know how much you want this game (but don't annoy them) and it's free, so there's no consequence in deleting it if it isn't suitable/doesn't work
Oh and read Death's post below me! Isn't there a way to change the amount of blood/gore in the options menu anyway? If not, see if you can get a mod :3

I agree with Albertt911, if you guys want to discuss violence in video games, make your own topic, instead of getting this one way off-topic
Anyway, I think you should show your parents some low violence, or non-violence mods, and see if they change their opinion when they see that you can reduce the violence in the game ^^

Exactly.
He's a very "Mommys Boy" type person and seems to believe we all must follow his beliefs that you should only date if you're 50 and only play violent games if you're even older.

Yes, and let's hope I can allow myself an equal degree of laziness once school starts again. ^_^

Wow. I saw you once before. Then you disappeared off the face of Scratch. Now, you just randomly reappear. How strange. Anyways, glad you're back!
