But yeah, so I probably have it worse, but I don't own that game so can't help you. Sorry man.
Really? REALLY? Just take out DarkRP from your file(unless you were playing on a server other than your own).

My (completely technologically challenged) Mom heard me mention I was an assassin to my cousin who was watching me and took that as the main point of the game saying "You know we don't let you play shoot 'em games hurr durr"
I'll tell them I'll only play on my friends sandbox server when I try to convince them to let me play again. Though my dad is the only one who will understand.
But DarkRP is so fun! D: That's the part I wasted 30 hours of my life on. D:

^ This.
Much of our younger generation has enough violence. If your parents disagree, forget it. M-rated games are not meant for children. I still don't get how people can handle all that violence. Sheesh.

Download the low violence patch for no blood! If it doesn't work, tell them that everyone on scratch agrees that it's not that violent. I started when playing when I was 11, and you're fourteen, so, I'm pretty sure you're mature enough to handle it. You're parents should really trust you more.
That's not gonna work. I'm actually with the parents on this one. Enough of the violence. If you want violence, get some classic toy soldiers and make them have war. Use ketchup for blood if you have to.

It's not the violence we like, it's the gameplay.
The FPS play style is very enjoyable for a lot of people, myself included.

You realize while in several M games they use an almost comedic amount of blood and while the violent humor is an aspect of the game, most games are either made to cash in on popular franchises or actually be enjoyable and create an experience.

This.
Just explain that it's cartoon violence and the blood is more like the stuff you see in Tom and Jerry, and the characters are almost animated-ish and lovable. Also, take some badly drawn TF2 parodies, which are probably hilarious, and show it to them, which will convince them it's harmless. But tell them it's TF2, not a TF2 parody.

If its an M rated game, you should wait til you're 15 or whatever your local law says you should be

Well, completely disregarding your parents and just downloading it(because it's free) is not the way to go.
Lying to your parents is just as worse. many people here will disagree with me, but the game is violent and bloody. The violence matches that of a shooter, but with a cartoon style. But cartoon style is also what makes it so bloody. Every bullet, stab, and blowing up characters leaves blood splatters everywhere.
I'm not saying wait until you're 17 to get it, I'm just saying try thinking about it. It's not as bad as other rated M games, but it is rated M. Wait until you are a little older.

Don't. Just go to a friends house and play it there.

Tom and Jerry doesn't have blood.

I presume you're talking about Assassin's Creed. If so, then that is the point of the game, right? I mean, you're an assassin. The point is to kill people. Why would you even want to play something like that? You enjoy playing games where you have the pleasure of pretending to murder people? Anyone who enjoys playing those types of games is in my opinion slightly sadistic.

Me and my parents have come to an understanding that I sometimes play the occasional 'M' rated game. Their slightly cautious, but they know it's not exactly going to set my childhood alight.

Seriously! An M rated game? I wouldn't play it even if I WAS over the age limit... I don't know what makes people want to play those games with blood and everything...
Its de-sensitizing... like what happens to people after they go to war as a soldier and see all the horrible stuff... imagine that happening to a 14 year old! Its horrific!

Exactly. And I'm over 12, but I don't play most 12 (that's what it's called in England, at least) rated games. I think the only 12 rated game I'm fine with playing is Tron Evolution. I'd NEVER want to play a game which involves committing acts of violence.

People don't really play FPS games for the blood and stuff like that, they play them for the gameplay, the skill, the fast pace and the tactics involved in them. The blood is only there for special effects
As for the violence in tf2, just look for tf2 mods (like tf2 funny gibs (which replaces all the blown of human bits (when you get blown up), to random objects, like a hamburger or spring) and I'm pretty sure there'd probably be a no blood mod for tf2 as well ^^

You mean the tactics involved in killing people efficiently?

yes.
in a time limit, with skill and with power ups and perks.
i know some players who spawn camp, which is where you camp right near where players spawn so you can get easy kills.
