Hello, Scratch! I'm new here. So far it's going great-The program's very good, very simple. I have a couple of questions though-
What's the difference between a Scratcher and a New Scratcher?
What do Abs, etc. do in the program?
Why can I not post in Miscellaneous while others can? Is it because I am new?
Well, best of wishes (Quite ironically, considering my username),

yes, thats why.
And the reason is because of spammers.

What do Abs, etc. do in the program?
Abs and other different mathematical operators such as sin, cos, tan, e^ and sqrt solve certain math issues. These are useful for a variety of programming possibilities, such as positioning, variables and drawing with the pen.
sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, and atan are all used in trigonometry. I think people tend to learn about this in high school. say if you want to draw a hypotenuse (the longest side) of a triangle, but you don't know how long it will be. like with this unfinished triangle. __/ you'd use them to figure out the angle and length of the line.
You can also just play around with the mathematical functions for the fun of it. They can be pretty amusing.

What's the difference between a Scratcher and a New Scratcher?
Scratchers are people who've been here for a while. New scratchers are people who recently joined. This system is made so people dont make accounts to spam or troll. thats really bad stuff that some people do.
What do Abs, etc. do in the program?
Sorry i dont know what those are.

Yes, it's because you are new. As i said earlier, some bad people do bad stuff, and this is to prevent that. Just be helpful and show the mods you're a good person. Then you can be a scratcher!

When can they promote me to a Scratcher? u.u
I wouldn't do any trolling But I suppose this is a good system...
Is it because of that... "attack" a couple of months ago? I saw some projects about that

No, its just the standard set of rules, its always been here...
And if you're finding the 180sec rule annoying? It used to be 360... and before that 1000... so consider yourself lucky

Actually I've been speaking to my artist friend who's been a scratcher since 2008, though quit a couple of months ago (Still helps me will projects though), and he tells me it's been since an attack of trolls.
And yeah, the 1000 second rule, that's why I didn't join when I downloaded scratch on my first computer
But how much time does it take to be a Scratcher?
