And I also like anything from Ayreon's albums The Human Equation and 01011001.

I have to disagree.
Katy Perry's voice is just horrendous, IMO. It sounds like somebody's mom singing in their car, only worse. In what way? The chorus or the 'spoken' parts?
Her voice is always horrible. Not just in Last Friday Night.
Oh my god.
I don't like Katy Perry either. But there's one thing I hate more than singers. Hypocrisy. You're always telling people "oh rap isn't that bad" and "metal is good" and whatever else. I don't care what people's opinions are, as long as they aren't mean to people for having their own opinions or don't say their opinion is the only right one.
But then you go around saying "this person is horrendous". I don't care if you have your own opinion. It's an opinion that we share. But you should be polite. Even if you say "no offence" or "IMO" or whatever. It's still rude. You could just say "I am not fond of her voice" or "her voice isn't to my personal preference".
That said, Katy Perry isn't to my personal preference, but I respect that you like the song.

Wait, I'm confused. I never remembered saying that I didn't respect her opinion. I don't get how disliking Katy Perry and claiming that rap and metal can take skill makes me a hypocrite. By this logic, if we liked a song, we couldn't say "I absolutely love this song", because that would be disrespecting people who didn't like the song. We would all have to say "this song is to my particular taste", in order to "be polite".
There's a difference between "I think [insert band/musician here]'s awful" and "Anybody who likes [[insert band/musician here] is dumb.

You were saying "IMO it's horrendous". Would you have said that to someone's face? And I know there's a difference.

I might have. I would never say anything about the person for liking it, but I would just say that in MY opinion, it's horrendous. In fact, you mentioned Design the Skyline in one topic, and you said "they are so horrible". You didn't say "they're not in my musical taste", so you shouldn't be insulting me for not being super mega polite about what music I like and dislike.
Oh, and I made it clear in the rap and metal topics that I was fine with people disliking those genres, but you just couldn't say ignorant stuff about it because of your musical taste.
