It was supposed to be for the Block Library site, to create the block images.

The php for this API started out pretty small but it's 257 lines long now, I think it may be time to annotate the source code since it's open source 

Adding today:
project...
     -number of comments
     -number of favourite-ers
     -number of remixes

Possibly adding today:
     -optional background colour and size change for the text return system as well as
      optional font colour and size change to make the text returns better fit existing
      signatures.

LS97, Although it's not strictly an API and so would have to be counted as a side project by me, you've actually given me a good idea. What about (using MySQL) love-it and/or support buttons for forum posts? This would be a little graphic <3 or +1 with the number of current supporters/ lovers listed. Uses? Idea posts, posts detailing a project or collaberation and perhaps most usefully posts in the suggestions forum, where people usually comment with a +1 to show support.

I've just finished adding a very versatile control system for the text return. This can be applied to any text-as-image return from the API using additional parameters. If a special value for any parameter is not set, it will default to the black text, grey background etc.

These additional attributes are designed to make the API fit existing signatures more neatly. For example, if you wanted your project name in your sig, you could set the return image's height, width, text colour, background colour, text size and text position to best fit your sig:


If you're worried about your sig changing width too much with the length of your current project name don't worry! I've built in a stringlimit attribute!



Will document full in a while. May also allow a different colour border if I can work out how so that bordered sigs will look okay. Would also like to work out how to do it with images like thumbnails of projects, bear with me!

Actually, it ocurs to me that I should work out how to give it a link to a background image... then it will fit any sig seamlessly...

I saw it, but I don't have the block. Did you use the scratch redirect? I've used it a little on here and the block library is currently trying to work out if it works too!

This image appears as an "image not found" image on the previous page... I wonder why...

Yup. It's stopped it working for anyone with a capital in their name... great.
