Compressing Sounds

An RPG I am making has lots of huge soundtracks so I am flying over the 10 MB limit for uploading.  I know when you try to upload there is a little thing saying "Compress Sounds/Images?".  I made sure that was checked and it still wouldn't load.  Is there anything I can do?

Re: Compressing Sounds

You can adjust the level of compression by going to the edit menu and clicking "Compress sounds", which will bring up a context menu with options for the level of sound quality and compression.

However, you're probably better off trying to get rid of some of your sounds, because they won't sound very good if you compress them to the lowest level.

Re: Compressing Sounds

Ok. I'm trying it right now. Thanks!

Edit:  I did that with the "meow" sound to test and it said, "Sounds compressed: 0."

What is it doing?

The meow sound is probably already compressed. Try compressing it to a lower quality perhaps?

I think you can only compress a sound once, so if it came already compressed, it's not going to do it again. Try importing a new sound, then compressing.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

None of the Scratch sounds can be compressed, probably because they already are. ^^

A good way to test it is by importing some sort of song - the change in file size is usually very obvious.

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>
