What would you consider "downloadable?" Lots of PC games are available for download now. For example, Steam has a massive collection of games, from inexpensive Indie titles to games from big-time publishers like Activision and Rockstar Games.

Of course, if you're looking for something free, there's plenty of things like that out there too. The only thing I can think of right now is I Wanna Be the Guy though. (That'll certainly keep you busy, but be warned: it is hard to the point of being downright cruel.)

Eversion, Team Fortress 2, Portal:first slice (the portal demo) and Using WoM (a downloadable Minecraft Classic hacking client) to play Minecraft classic servers are all good free ones.
EDIT: oh another good free one is spelunky.

Most addicting games ever.

If you are looking for a shooter, try AA3 on steam.  It is pretty good.

It is way too laggy for my computer, though.

You won't get in a jam when you add a little ham because when you add meat, your life will be sweet.                     .
