Not only a computer.
Think of a "random" number. It's not truly random, just unpredictable.
Think of a random shape, like a square or circle.

You picked a triangle. Right? I think most people will. ;)
This is random though:
(Tell me if Weebly sized that wrong, I can fix it.)

In fact most 'random' values are derived from the computer's clock! So, if you know the exact time when the random value was produced down to the millisecond, you may find out the formula the program uses to generate random values.
Of course there are other ways too

I personally believe that there is no such thing as true random, simply that things that appear random are too complicated to predict. For example, I personally believe that there cannot be free will if every action is caused, by the laws of physics, from a previous action. The illusion of free will comes from not being able to predict what will happen in life, action or thoughts, there are just too many variables to work with. You should have seen my Religious Education teacher when I proposed this to her...
By the way, I merely bring this up, I totally respect others' views that free will exists, you may be right, after all
(please don't turn this into a debate, is what i'm getting at
)

This is partially true. Many Programs also use hardware values as well (Ie. Number of CPU's). But yes the clock is the main one used and if that is the same and you don't change any hardware or software then you will get the same result everytime. The best known form of random generation is from using waves which come from space.

I believe that free will does exist.
Even if it is caused by a previous action, that action does not dictate what you will do: you have a choice.
I guess I'll leave it at that, I don't want to go too far.
Anyone like the "random" image? ;P

Random.org claims to have a truly random number generator.
IDK weather or not atmsopheric noise is acctually that random, but I think it is...

Aren't electron paths are truly random?
