I agree that you shouldn't be on the computer all day and I agree that you should let it 'sleep' at night if thats what you want to call it.

Actually, powering off and on the computer requires more energy than sleeping it, and can also put more wear and tear on the transistors, and therefore makes it more likely to crash and  burn. Also, in order to stay in tip top condition, a computer must run certain scripts in *GASP* the middle of the night!

I always turn off my computer whenever I can (at night, when I'm away, etc). I can't imagine how people don't do that...

I didn't say a computer was alive, I used an aspect of poetry, personification.  Just because I give an object a need to rest, does not mean it literally.     Please understand, this is aimed at the 6-10 age range.  My next article will be about video games.

Well, an inanimate object isn't like an animate one. When it's off, all it needs to do is cool down, not reinvigorate itself, so really, it's only the amount of time you are on a PC, instead of the amount of time you are off a PC that affects it.

This was just personification -_-.
It was used for 6-10 year olds to try and get them to be more active 
Obviously, no one reads the OP.

This is why I have two laptops.
