As you all know, many are debating about which ones are the better of the two. Of course, these will all be opinions, so don't overreact. Anyways, let's go over the pros and cons.
Pros:
Older cartoons (1990-2005) seemed to have better storyline, plot, and characters. Although the animation wasn't as good as today, these cartoons had better character design and such. They also seemed more sincere to their viewers.
Newer cartoons (2006-present) have better animation and graphics. Their definitely more vivid and colorful, so that's a good thing. A few of them are not as complicated as older ones, so little ones may understand it better.
Cons:
Older cartoons were a bit more violent and mature.
Newer cartoons have less in-depth storyline, plot, and characters, like the older ones did. Some of them are also very immature, like Fanboy and Chum Chum. Despite what I said earlier, they can sometimes be too vivid and colorful, like The Problem Solverz. In some cases, animation can be worse.
------------------------------------
Overall, I think I would say older cartoons are better:
SpongeBob (1999-2005), Ren & Stimpy, Recess, Kim Possible, CatDog, Rocket Power, Foster's Home, etc.
That's not to say all of the newer stuff is bad. The newer SpongeBob (6.5/10) episodes are so-so, but has lost some of its pizzazz.
Others include: Adventure Time (6/10), Dan Vs. (9/10), Phineas and Ferb (8/10), and so on.
Discuss.

Old Is is Better like Rocks Are Better Than Sticks

This is just the problem. It's not Old vs. New. It's each individual cartoon. I like shows like Loony Tunes and Adventure Time, because they are GOOD. It doesn't matter if they are old or new. Only if they are good.

Old cartoons rock. But I do like some newer shows.

Yes! Though I would personally give P&F 10/10
Also, older cartoons actually teach people stuff. Examples: Pinky and the Brain: Teaches you the parts of the brain in song form, Animaniacs teaching you the 50 states and their capitals (also in song form), and more.
Of course, Ferb teaches random facts("Gladiators were Roman, not Greek", "They [platypuses] are the only mamals to lay eggs") as well as the AGLET song
I wish Disney would bring KP back...

Animaniacs was great. Although I give P&F an 8, I still love it all the way!

Mature as in made for an older crowd or mature as in not just stupid? If the first, no way, today's cartoons hint toward bad stuff much more often than old cartoons. If the second, how is that a con?

Yeah
I guess I loved Animaniacs when I was little. I don't remember it much though
17 more days until Phineas and Ferb: Accross the Second Dimension in Ferb-ulous 2D

Does anyone remember Firday Nights? I loved watching the stupid stuff they did on commercials
