The new message system.
I don't like the new message system. I mean I'll give it a try but honestly, It deleted all my messages. I need some info, ok mit? thanks. Bye.

you can still see your old messages with a link at the bottom but they will be deleted by December 31st becuase it isn't good for the server to have tons of messages stored, it's better to just delete them right after you read them

I don't know how much archmage or zelda had but they are all deleted. Just delete them right away when you read it...

I don't know how much archmage or zelda had but they are all deleted. Just delete them right away when you read it...
It's not really that important. I mean, it may be fun to have a little friendly competition or something on the side, but they're just messages. As archmage said, it's better now because you can actually see the messages instead of the page not being able to load.
I started back at 500+ because I never deleted the "You have been added to the list of friends..." messages.

I like the message system. I've had problems like it showing I had 8 at the top when I really had 5, but other than that it's worked fine.

i only like it because you can delete all of your messages at once instead of pressing every little x and waiting for the lag to catch up, especialy when you have a front page project. when i went on this mourning i had 121 messages, and i had none the night before because i delete all mine right after i got them. i wonder how many i would have if i never deleted them.

I'm not that sure, but that's the way it seems to be working out for me.
And yes, I can view my messages now.

I wish it didn't say "Your comment on (name of project) has been replied by (username)." The use of the passive voice is bad enough, but the missing "to" after the "replied" is really starting to get on my nerves. Instead, the message should be "(Username) has replied to your comment on (name of project)."
Also, maybe when someone replies to someone else's comment on your project, it could say "(Username) has replied to a comment on (name of project)."

Well, that may be a fun game to play...but it causes the server to have to do extra work. Every time you go to your message notification area, those 1000 notifications have to be retrieved from the database, formated and put on the screen. It takes compute cycles to do all that stuff and makes the whole system just that much slower for everybody else. So please consider the result of your actions before you decide to use the system in ways it wasn't designed for. Lot's of little actions can add up to big impacts!
