I realise that there have been many issues with messages. But I just thought I'd share mine. Today, I checked my messages, and instead of there being about 3000 and somthing messages, there were 91. I looked at these 91 messages and they were all friend request messages. They also had a different red delete icon next to them.

Sorry if this is just an error during the modification of the messaging system. But I have had many messaging problems in the past and it really needs to be sorted out.

Hi, 04lukeb.
The situation is the same as my account.
It seems my message list was gone too.
In addition, I cannot choose "Japanese" from the language menu on top right.

Oh! Yeah same thing with me, i had at least 670 or something, now i only have 21, and they are all friend requests. I liked the old message system better hmm

Are project comments going to show up in new messages?

The message system must be being changed then. I can't think why else it would do this. Merry Christmas everyone big_smile

It's a brand new shiny message system! Your old messages are available through the link at the bottom of the notifications page but they will only be available for a short period of time (Dec 31), so make sure you have read them all.

The new message system required new tables in the database and the decision was made not to bring the old messages over to the new system. Really, it's not a good practice to keep hanging on to old messages...it puts extra stress on the system since they have to be displayed in the notification area every time you get a new message. Read your messagea and then delete them is the way we would prefer you used the system.

i like this new system much better. now the mesaages are updated much faster and there's no lag after you delete messages. big_smile
