New Branch for Learning Scratchers
I think there should be a branch of the website where scratchers learning to program in school post projects. I also think that it shouldnt show how many views the projects get(only accessable by Scratch Team) because lately, new scratchers have been obsessed with getting views and spamming when their projects are just basic scripting and boring. Also, the Learning Scratcher branch should also be made to encourage remixing more. That is because if you want more views, you dont remix because you dont get much views. Also, the remixing in the new Scratch branch should not allow the contests, add ons, and memes that litter the front page and Scratch as a whole. That defeats the purpose of "improving" another Scratcher's project. Also, Scratchers could help each other more because they arent focusing on fame with the new scratch branch. The Newest projects would be worthwhile to see because it wont be littered with New Scratcher projects with basic scripting and Scratch sprites. I hope you consider this idea or do something similar to this.

While I agree that there is an unfortunate desire for fame and popularity among new Scratchers, such that they will dispense with good coding or hard work to follow "trends", I think there is also something to be said for keeping the community united instead of divided.
Each way you look at the problem, you must make trade-offs, and there does not appear to be a clear solution.
I've taken a long hiatus, but I still visit sometimes. Give me some time to answer any messages you post on my projects!

Like demosthenes, I don't think there's any clear-cut solution. However, there are some definite disadvantages to this solution. There's always the concern of creating a rift in the community; there is a bit of a division between less and more experienced Scratchers already and this could make it worse. Another concern is this: what would define the "learning" stage, and how would users know when they can start posting in the more "advanced" section? They might post projects in there too early and anger some Scratchers, or be too afraid to move on to the more advanced section.
