You know how there's the play note () Block?
I think that there should be a block that plays more than one at the same time, because it sould the timing much better, and would also need fewer scripts.

Interesting idea!
Personally, I think there should be a "do simultaneously" block... That would be neat and eliminate the need for this block. Of course, nothing is ever perfectly simultaneous when you're dealing with computers, so your solution does work quite well. I don't think it's necessary, though... Timing shouldn't be off if you've got it programmed spot-on. Needless to say, Scratch is the best music composition program.

I'm so rather tempted right now to challenge that statement.

Support. I would definitely like to see a block that plays multiple notes instead of just the default one. Maybe, at most, three or four notes at once?

Ack! That was a typo! I meant Scratch ISN'T the best music composition program.

I support THAT statement.
But if this does get supported enough, think about how much more synchronized notes would be and how much easier it would be to write music altogether?
You also wouldn't have to follow all of those scripts.

Oooh, I'd like that, too, that would be just awesome.

But with this idea have to come a new feature with errors. Maybe a simple debugger, showing you what you did wrong, and how to fix it...

Cheddargirl, I support your idea for an epic chord block!![]()
YES! I always have to make separate scripts to do that.
And yes, support for the play multiple notes block.

I completely agree!
Would it be in the style of BYOB blocks:
[play chord (66v), (70v) < >]
With arrows that you can click to add or remove notes?
Or with a dropdown:
[play chord (66v), (70v)]
|\
|_\__________
| help_______|
|---------------|
| add note___.|
| remove note |
-------------------
Sorry about the horrible mockups - I'm on my iPod Touch at the moment. I'll make better mockups when I'm on my computer.
EDIT: Here's the basic block:
And the BYOB-style:
