Voices, I hear them. I am not insane. No I am not!

Okay, I'm kidding, but I'm writing a semi-horror fantasy story.
I will post in on storynetwork. It's kind of like a Diary/Journal, written by somebody who hears voices in their head.

Italic is the voices, regular is the writer. In quote boxes are the journal entries, out of quote boxes is just the regular story.

July 18, 2002

The voices. I hear them, nagging me, taunting me. I can't get them to stop! Get out of my head! My therapist thinks I'm insane. I'm not. I still need help. Get them out of my head!

Voices: We are not in your head. We do not exist, we are existence. You can't get rid of us, you just can’t

Well watch me try! I will try as hard as I can to get you out of my head!

Voices: We can control you. Don't even try to get rid of us, you can't.

I cannot be controlled!

It was about midnight. He was in the woods, holding a knife over a man's neck. He was slowly lowering the knife. Closer. Closer. He kept getting closer, when somebody yelled. He jumped up, and started to run. The man laid there, shaken, but very much alive.

"He- he- tried to kill me," the man managed to choke out. "I don't know him. I have seen him before, just never talked to him. I think he's 17. He kept mumbling something about 'The Voices'. It was just creepy how he kept talking to an unknown person, or people."

July 19, 2002

They almost got me. I need more control over them. The voices. They still continue to control me. I almost killed that guy. I need to stop. This time they almost drove me over.

I feel like an animal. I can't control myself. I need to stop. The medication can't help much, either. It only makes me easier to control, in my drug-induced half awake, half asleep state. I have no control of my actions.

Voices: You cannot stop us. We can control you even without the drugs. You can't control yourself. You are like our mindless slave, trapped in your own mind.

He tracked him down again, this time killing him. The man, who he tried to kill, is now dead. He succeeded. He won. He cannot be stopped. The security cameras caught him though. They know who he is. The body was found two days later, with a message written in the man's blood.

'The voices drove me to it.'

That one simple message revealed who it was. Along with the camera video, they just have to find him.

"I don't think he can stop. The Voices, as he says, might be controlling him. He might just be insane" said Frank, the detective.
"I don't get it. What are these 'Voices'?" said the cop.
"I talked to his therapist, Dr. Ceil. His childhood was hard. He had an abusive, alcoholic father, and his mother was a drug addict," replied Frank.
"So, maybe he really is insane. Maybe he isn't. I have no time for this, I have to get back home, it's late," said the cop.

He got into his car, and drove home. The detective did the same.

July 20, 2002

They did it. They drove me over the edge. I killed him. They are looking for me. I have to run.

July 21, 2002

They almost got me. I am fleeing to Mexico. They will never find me there. I will swim the boarder. Or maybe when they smuggle the drugs, I will hop in. Yeah, that's it. Hop in the drug truck.

Voices: Don't flee, face them. They will find you anyways

No they won't! I will go to Mexico and swim to Cuba if I have to! I need to get away!

He awoke in a padded cell. His head hurting, he stood up. He had no clue where he was.

"Where am I, and where's my journal?" he yelled.

The door opened slightly, and a small, leather bound book dropped through.

"Thanks," he replies to the unknown person.

July 30, 2002 (I think)

They got me. I am locked in a padded cell, under watch. I am safer in here than out there. At least I can't kill.

Voices: You can still kill yourself

Yes, but I don't want to. I have started to trust you. You are now the only person, or people I have to talk to. I just won't kill myself.

Voices: It's good that you trust us. We don't want you to kill yourself, or kill other people. That was your own choice. We can help you escape. Just listen to us. Look to the right. Right there is a metal slot. That's where your meals come in. It's big enough to slide through, if you lose some weight. Just don't eat for three weeks. That will make you thin enough.

Where do I put the food?

Voices: In the toilet. Now, get some rest, it's 1:20 in the morning.
