I made up a fake identity:
First name: Aejo Last name: Danball
Me too. I came up with
Scoli Smith
or
Samantha Smith
if it gets suspicious at Scoli.

For sites that ask what my name is, it's Cave Johnson
though the portal forums had that name taken, so I chose Companion Cube

Discuss annoying over-protectiveness here.
Parents may sometimes seem a bit "overprotective", but it's only because they love you. It's for the best of it. One day, you'll be a parent and you'll get a better understanding of why your parents did all this stuff. It's not for nothing and you won't regret it when you grow up. I feel your pain, like slapperbob said, but I'd rather be scolded by my parents than grow up to become some loser out on the streets begging for money (no offense to homeless people). Kids have a different mindset about things than adults do, so it's only natural to feel this way. But, like I said, you'll understand when you grow up.
I, for one, sometimes question my parents methods, but I also understand them at the same time.

You say that like you are an adult yourself.

I even tried bribing them. I wouldn't say there overprotective but still.
Dude, civilians use the F-Bomb every time you hit them.
Oh, and I couldn't get one of my most anticipated games of all time, L.A. Noire, because it had slight nudity. But that is not really overprotectness, that's just common sense. Yet I can play games with any cuss words or other inapropiate gestures as long as it is not in front of my brothers.

This isn't parents but now apparently Google deems it fit to prevent me from making e-mail. "Unusual activity on my account" lolwut.

Once, when I was either 4 or 5, my mom brought a door locking thing.
She put it on the door one night, and I wanted to get out.
Unfortunately, my mom did have a lot of extra pillows in there!
So I grabbed them one by one stacking them by the door.
I figured out the combination in half a minute, because the instructions for it are printed there!

Aren't you too young for google buzz?

Heh, I was lucky.
"We know it's fake, and we also know your not going to go out and do it, so go play a very violent video game, and leave me alone." was and is the tone in my house. I had a copy of Tomb Raider and WWF when I was like, 4 or 5. The internet wasn't so widespread when I was younger, so that wasn't really an area of concern.

Yes, they do it because they love you, but it's actually psychologically scarring. Kids become less self confident, more withdrawn... well, you'd have to read the article. You don't want to ignore the kid either. It actually has started to show on me. I'm afraid to leave the house alone and to cross the street and to swim in the ocean to the point where I never want to do those things EVER. Enough is enough.
