hacking

Ok first hear this PASSWORD GUESSING IS NOT HACKING. There are so many forums which
tell you to make complex passwords if you dont want to get "hacked" but that wont help you. the normal way of hacking a password is called a SQL injection. SQL is a scripting
language which makes databases for the web and is used for websites such as Scratch, Facebook, twitter, youtube etc. so when you enject SQL you acsess these databases (using
a hacking website too.) So please stop being stupid there are really no hackers on scracth
cause they dont hack THEY GUESS PASSWORDS

Re: hacking

I hate it when people use 'hacker' negatively, people should say 'cracker'.
Anyhow, pretty good information.
Correction: SQL IS NOT A SCRIPTING LANGUAGE!!! It's nothing of the sort, SQL commands are just used to access the database and it's not necessary for a query to be more than one line. SQL can be queried using scripting languages.
For example, here's a line of PHP code that might be used to post a forum message.
mysql_query("INSERT INTO posts (user, text, date) VALUES ('$user', '$text', '$date')");
Yeah.

Re: hacking

Thank you for the correction. also i Agree hacking can be a positive action. I hacked scratch and found a unused feature called mesh. really cool feature but hard to program
with because it really can expand the megabyte space.

Unfortunately some people can be still gullible. Nice speech though.

Lol. Hackers are crackers. Crackers go good with cheese. Therefore, crackers are cheesy and get caught.

Hackers are not crackers. I'm a hacker, but not a cracker.

This signature is TDD's fault... yes, I had to.

Okay, Kaj was never guessing passwords either

I've heard about this cracking vs. hacking thing before, guessing passwords falls under neither of those words.

Re: hacking

Actuqlly, hacking can also be performing feats that weren't meant to be done.

E.g. Eating with a large quantity of chopsticks at a time. (2-3 pairs or something)

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

Re: hacking

Hacking is hacking a site and changing it or something or having control over it. Hacking an account WITHOUT guessing the password like hacking the site and getting to accounts by that, that is hacking. This is just a firm guess  tongue

Currently, "hacker" is used in two main conflicting ways, one pejorative and one complimentary. The controversy is usually based on the assumption that the term originally meant someone messing about with something in a positive sense, that is, using playful cleverness to achieve a goal. But then, it is supposed, the meaning of the term shifted over the decades since it first came into use in a computer context and became to refer to computer criminals.

Can I change that from "Hackers are crackers" to "Hackers are not crackers" and put it in my signature?
