http://escratch.org/scratch2beta.gifIt's not a beta, it's just a pre-alpha of the block creator.
No, thats well, the pre-alpha of SCRATCH 2.0
Scratch 2.0 is being coded from changes of this, this is the current (as of scratchday) beta of scratch 2.0.

I meant it's the pre-alpha of the project creator. Scratch 2.0 also includes the new website.

yes, that is the pre-alpha of the project creator. As far as I know, they haven't really done any real work on scratch2.0 the website.

I haven't seen any, but if you look closely, there are some slight changes.

Although I must ask you something, in the bottom right corner of the second one (the one with Scratch the Cat) there's a section thats a lighter gray. What is it?

Anyway, will the projects still save in the same file type? I really wanna know so we can continue on projects made in 1.4.1 downwards
Yes and no. Projects started in Scratch 2.0 will use a .sb2 file but scratch will still be able to open .sb files and will probably convert them to .sb2.

I'm still laughing at Scratch Team for being so IGNORANT as to think that we want/need the UI changed.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE!

There's no confirmation about SB2.
Think about how mods can open projects from Scratch...

They turned off the automatic clickable thing, you have to put url tags around the address now.
Like [url]scratch.mit.edu[/url]

Like [url]scratch.mit.edu][/url].
Typo.
They should turn that on for "Scratcher"s to Scratch. ^^

I like it, I have a few suggestions.
1. I really think that the block pallete should not be over the stage, but left of the scripting area. Seriously, the click-drag-right-release is so burned in, if you move it to the right of the scripting area, I'm going to lose my mind.
2. We need a SCRIPT mode too.
Where you type in the blocks instead of drag and drop, so you click it, and the block pallete disappears, while the scripting area takes form of a textbox where you can type code, and you can switch back and it will be block form. Unfinished blocks won't show, and syntax errors will report.

1) Grammar cop alert! Palette.
Anyways, yeah, I will too.
2) That would be cool, but I think unnecessarily hard to code (for the Scratch Team). Maybe for 2.1.
And: WEN WILL SCRATCH 2 B OUT?????????????????????????????
