Torrents are evil. Most are illegal, and all suck up your bandwidth because of seeding.

I never use torrents. Too much of a hassle, too much risk of viruses, nothing I really want comes in a torrent, sites that host torrents usually have really disreputable ads, just overall pointless to me.

No, torrents in the case that you are downloading like a ripped movie, song, or so on is illegal. Torrents were never made to download things illegally, but to make downloading faster. It was meant to be a file sharing tool that would make downloading files quicker through seeding.
