Hello.
Just checking in here so that those of you who don't check Misc. know I'm not dead
Boy, I'm glad I made that upload form so that I don't have to upload all of the BYOB blocks myself!
I'm usually tending to my Minecraft server nowadays, but I'll do something if you want me to.
Any suggestions for managing the BYOB blocks on my site?

Your site is awesome! It's hard to think of what you could improve... it would be nice if we could delete blocks, in case we upload a the wrong file.

Do you have the block library website FTP details? It would be handy if the upload for BYOB blocks could be in the main block form on the library site!
Yeah, you emailed them to me already, and you suggested that other thing too
I'll look into it. (I said that last time, didn't I? ) But it probably would be best to have the block be uploaded to a temporary folder on the library's site so it could be approved by librarians, and then uploaded by them. This would probably call for a librarian "control panel", and would be a little more difficult to code, but it would be more secure. (This way a direct upload form wouldn't be as necessary either, since librarians (should) have accounts on my site and can upload them from there anyway.)

Already got that planned. When a block is submitted it will have it's "status" column set to "unapproved". Blocks marked as such will appear on a block approval panal that site moderators can log into using their Scratch accounts and won't appear in the library until they are approved from that page. This is to stop any malicious code or images being shared! It's just that if we want to keep the BYOB download system working we need some sort of upload on the submission form...

Oh, so you want me to code a generic one? Sure, I can do that! (Though someone else will have to do the storing of data as I assume it's in the MySQL database and the current logging system I have on my site is a simple .log file in a homemade format )

Sure thing, Bookworm300, Firstly you can visit the BYOB contents page. From there you can either choose a block category to browse through or just scroll down to see them all. There are two kinds of BYOB in the block library.
If they have this symbol beside them then they are downloadable, simply click on the symbol and a download window will appear. The block will be downloaded to a computer in BYOB sprite form, simply open BYOB and click import sprite, then find your downloaded sprite and import it; the block will appear in your projects!
If they have this symbol by them it means that no-one has yet had the time to share a downloaded version of the block so no download is available. In both cases you can click on the block itself and you will be taken to an image of the blocks that make this block. You will then have to copy the block order by hand into your BYOB project from the image you see.
I hope this helps you get on your way to using BYOB blocks in the library! If you do copy out any of the blocks by hand that don't have a download, consider sharing the sprite with us by uploading it here! and telling us about it on this thread!

Actually, that form is available for block librarians only, so normal people can't access it. Sorry. D:

I'll add a download if you request it.

Yeah, so you would have to upload it somewhere else then a librarian could add it.

That's not going to work. I would appreciate it if you could impliment and test your blocks before you share them as it saves blocks that just don't work from being addedSorry. As I said, I didn't have scratch on that comp, so I wasn't sure. Why do you think it doesn't work?
I remember being desperate and trying that. It never worked whatever I did till i found the compiler.
I found the code eventually for the block you are trying to make, want me to tell it to you?
Oh, YES! . Please?

Oh I need to learn how to use the scratch block importer. If you know it doesn't work could you tell me if there is a way to uninstall it? Thanks.

Bookworm300, we haven't figured out how to make BLOCK files; I thought Pecola1 was working on that...
I also don't know how to get rid of the option. I don't think it's really much of a bother though.

(you don't give the block a name because the WhenHatBlockMorph class automatically adds the label.)
This was already made by Pecola1.

This won't work. What if ((end-start)/change) is not (round (end-start)/change)? Then it wil round down.
