Hmm, wouldn't we all like to know?
It's common human nature to aspire to be known, or be on top, or be center of attention.
But you can enjoy scratch without all that!
Besides, what means more? 1000 views from strangers, or 1 view from the one you cherish most?

how about 1,000 views from the one you cherish the most?

I'm not sure it works that way since you can only get one view per project per I.P. address. But nice try hahahaha!

As I believe that fame is an illusion, I cannot seem to understand why people even bother with trying to be famous. Becoming famous isn't as simple as saying "I want to be famous". You actually have to work because you want to, not because you want to be famous.
If everyone tried to be famous, then wouldn't fame just be another name for 'common'? Anyway, a way to be popular is just to make good projects and then add detailed advertisements to the show and tell forum!
Scratch on!I think it's funny that you said fame is an illusion, but then said that you can achieve it through hard work.
It is obviously not an illusion - though it is opinion based - that is, whether you're famous or not is base on your own standards.
Did you notice how I not once said you could 'achieve fame' you must have misinterprated my post. What I said was becoming popular is achievable through good work
No harm done, though, my friend!

befriend a famous person, then brag on forums that the famous person only befriends people with projects he likes( small people always think that the judgement of famous people is always correct and will follow it no matter what. and nobody will even bother to check anyways.) and youll get thousands of views, and much more chances for loves, as word of your project will quickly spread across scratch. it wont matter how dumb your project is,(actually, dont make it too dumb) and then make a bunch of remixes.... just make all the titles the same... people wont really know, and just search your name instead. this will be the time to make a good game. just make it look better. then, when the dumb famous person finally checks to see who hes really friended... well, lets just say that from that point on your all set and from that you can start making all the garbage you want. and it only took two projects, one dumb, one good, a stupid famous person, and a friend request.
i honestly think that this strategy (credit to me for making it up) should work perfectly.

That's what i was going to say. Don't count on being "famous". The people decide whether or not you are famous. However, what you can control is the views you get.
Sign up for several advertisement services (in the show and tell forum there are plenty)
and focus on getting a single project noticed. Then, when your project starts getting a lot of views, create a link on the project notes to a game you own that deserves to get noticed.
At least, this system is working for me (Goob's Adventure is my "focused" project)

This.
Oh yeah, and use the tools Scratch gives you. DO NOT JUST MAKE FREAKING SQUIGGLES.
And fame isn't ALWAYS about being perfect. It's about having fun and making friends. Which is why famous people are who they are. People like swifty are nice, which is why he's famous. RHY just made great stuff. He wasn't the nicest guy though, and I'm not saying anything

I think that to get famous(or at least get more views) you should:
1 Make lots of friends
dont just friend everyone you see though, that ruins the point of friending
2 put your project in relevant galleries
get your project into as many galleries as you can, as long as they are related to the project. Avoid galleries that like "add everything" or "99 gajillion projects!!!!" they wont help at all.
3 Sign up for ad services like BlackWhite Ads and Alliance Games Ad Service and get into one of the many scratch magazines like Scratchers of the Week Scratchazine and Rockers Weekly.
4 be nice and dont spam
spammers will often end up with less views than people who post constructive feedback on projects.
5 join collabs like Alliance Games, Arperture inc, and ecoTron, so that when you recieve credit in the project, people will see you and check you out.
I hope this helps all you 'new scratchers' and 'unknown scratchers' that want more veiws!
