Knowing somewhat squeak i know squeak can support an open xmlsocket , and flash has a native support for it . but is it done in any scratch modification yet ? ...
Why i need this ?
IF thats done then we can actually make realtime web applications using just scratch (that specific mods) i mean MMO's , MMMO's are possible to me made as the stream will allow the programmer to use serverside language to be PHP or JAVA (core) that can provide port streaming, that can actually make MMO's based on scratch.,
The difference b/w a HTTPrequest and a Socket is that a socket is like a phone call whenever data comes/goes its active and send and stays open forever untill the user closes the application , but an HTTPrequest is like DATA request is made the server reads it and then outputs . now in this model numerous APACHE threads are to be opened on the webserver and also it requires more resources for less functionality
