Scratch

I think this is an idea worth considering...it wouldn't be very hard to circumvent, but it would shift the focus of forum discussion a little closer to Scratch, I think. Have you made a Scratch Suggestion for this idea?

That sounds like a great idea! I totally support!    I do want to point something out though, what happens if they're having a problem posting a project? The forums is pretty much the place a lot of users go to if they're having problems, not being able to upload a project is one of them.     I still support of course, but maybe it could give you 5 "free trial posts" only in the troubleshooting section that way they can ask for help if they're having problems with uploading a project.

Sounds like a good idea... but then... what if a new scratcher needs help?

Maybe scratchers with no projects can only post in the New Scratchers forum?

That way they can introduce themselves and get help.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea. There are a lot of restrictions in place for those with New Scratcher status, and changing to the regular Scratcher status already ties in with being active on the main site (which includes having projects uploaded and making comments). Additionally, if a New Scratcher needs help, they probably will be utilizing comments and/or forum posts for help. 

Oh, forgot to add somthing. They can post in certian (I fail at spelling) forums. I will add that to the top forum.

New Scratchers are already have forum restrictions (largely, they can't post in Miscellaneous). I can't find any other reason for restricting posting in other areas such as Show and Tell, Requests, Collaboration, or the Other Languages forum, as they may find a need for those.
