Clean. Renewable. Limitless.
Someday I hope to see a world run on solar energy, without dangerous levels of greenhouse gases, oil spills, ruined ecosystems, or nuclear disasters. I hope to see roads filled with cars that run completely on electricity, more efficient farming because of solar-powered tools, and prices lowering as food becomes easier to grow and goods become easier to manufacture. "A glittering antiseptic world of glass and steel and snow-white concrete," to quote Orwell. I believe solar energy is the key to this far-improved future.
What do you think about solar energy?

It's really cool, and I know a few people who live in the middle of nowhere, and have electricity everyday thanks to solar panels. I should note, however, the place I stayed in right next to it had no electricity, and didn't even have indoor pluming. An outhouse, in other words.
Now, if they had color-tinted panels, then it'd be even cooler.

Solar panels are good and all that but storing the power is the main problem. Batteries are so toxic coal plants are cleaner. But batteries are lasting longer than ever and soon we will be able to store the solar power for night time use with polution savings. I've had load of ideas for 'clean' power plants.
Solar panels are too expensive in Australia as the government prodives little incentives. Infact the government is reducing the solar funding scheme. It also provides no incentives to have an electric car. The sole thing it is focused on is a "Carbon Tax". <Could rant for longer but chooses not to>

I agree that solar is one of the ways to go but not neccesarily the only way. For example, in some areas, tide energy or wind energy may be more efficient. Do you get what I mean?
Also, current solar technology is not efficient enough to power a car as it moves.
I just hope that petrol lasts until the end of my life-time. Even if it doesn't, I will never forget the sound of a petrol engine.

I think solar thermal may be better.
Imagine hundreds of mirrors all focusing light onto one spot. This spot is heated up, causing water to boil.
