When I checked Windows Security Center a few minutes ago, it linked to this obvious virus "Vista Security Unregistrd." I clicked off it, viewed Task Manager and had Command Prompt all open for threat removal. I'm also running a scan with McAfee. I was on DeviantArt earlier, and I think that's what did it. I was viewing a flash animation when a popup asked if I wanted to let an unidentified program open, I clicked cancel, but I think it went through anyway. Has anyone with Vista heard of Vista Security Unregistrd?

It's another rogue. Once I got fooled by one... these are just fake Windows Security popups that you get on websites with viruses that put a bunch of red and yellow bubbles. Once I got one that said, "[Rogue Virus name which I forgot] reports that is not downloaded. Click here to download and protect your PC." I also have this rogue that I run on a virtual machine that says I have a "You are an idiot hahaha lolz" trojan. (

Oh yeah, there's also one called AVDefender 2011 (I think?) that I saw on YouTube which detected itself as a virus! I started laughing really hard. DESTROY THESE PROGRAM DEVELOPERS! Why do they have to add so much trouble to our lives!? Sometimes when you go on infected sites, your desktop gets hijacked and the taskbar and icons become hidden, and the background is a black screen saying "YOUR COMPUTER IS IN DANGER! PURCHASE _____ TO CONTINUE!!!!" These problems are horrible... even fake AVGs and Avasts are on the loose. Be careful! There's also one called SpywareBot to trick you into thinking your buying legit SpyBot S&D... I HATE IT!!!

I don't know. But I will tell you this:
First of all, many computer viruses aren't given out through just looking at a website. Sometimes they're completely random.
Second of all, there are many viruses that pose as ANTIVIRUS programs telling you that your computer is infected, and either the REMOVE THREAT or CANCEL, or even the Close Window (x), (or all or some other combination) are also infected. Next time, first disable your internet connection, then shut down your computer by holding down the power button, then power up your computer again in safe mode, then run as many antivirus softwares that you have and are well-known to prove them safe, if it needs an update run in safe mode with networking. If no threat is found, wait a few weeks (maybe even months) and update your antivirus software.

Good advice.

Gah, once i got a virus like that "Vista Internet Security 2011".... Stupid rouges
I tried to get it myself, but then couldn't and had to pay someone to remove it
The "cancle" thing happened in that one too... Now if a window pops up like that i just power down my computer.
and it had detected iTunes as a virus
(well, the "Bonjour" service thingy that i'm not sure what it does)
