Ok so this is more for me to make sure i don't make too many Eragon topics before Inheritance comes out, but feel free to post your own news of the fourth and final chapter in the saga of a farm boy who finds a dragon egg
When I find something new about the books, i'll ask for the title to be changed.
On to this...
The official website for all things Eragon had this posted... an exerpt from the book. It has me worried for Roran...
The sound was stabbing, slicing, shivering, like metal scraping
against stone. Eragon’s teeth vibrated in sympathy, a n d he covered
his ears with his hands, grimacing as he twisted around,
trying to locate the source of the noise. Saphira tossed her head, and even
through the din, he heard her whine in distress.
Eragon swept his gaze over the courtyard twice before he noticed a faint
puff of dust rising up the wall of the keep from a foot-wide crack that had
appeared beneath the blackened, partially destroyed window where
Blödhgarm had killed the magician. As the squeal increased in intensity,
Eragon risked lifting a hand off one ear to point at the crack.
“Look!” he shouted to Arya, who nodded in acknowledgment. He replaced his
hand over his ear.
Without warning or preamble, the sound stopped.
Eragon waited for a moment, then slowly lowered his hands, for once wishing
that his hearing was not quite so sensitive.
Just as he did, the crack jerked open wider—spreading until it was several feet
across—and raced down the wall of the keep. Like a bolt of lightning, the crack
struck and shattered the keystone above the door to the building, showering the
floor below with pebble-sized rocks. The whole castle groaned, and from the
damaged window to the broken keystone, the front of the keep began to
lean outward.
“Run!” Eragon shouted at the Varden, though the men were already scattering
to either side of the courtyard, desperate to get out from under the precarious
wall. Eragon took a single step forward, every muscle in his body tense as he
searched for a glimpse of Roran somewhere in the throng of warriors.
At last Eragon spotted him, trapped behind the last group of men by the
doorway, bellowing madly at them, his words lost in the commotion. Then the
wall shifted and dropped several inches, leaning even farther away from the rest
of the building, pelting Roran with rocks, knocking him off balance and forcing
him to stumble backward under the overhang of the doorway.
As Roran straightened from a crouch, his eyes met Eragon’s, and in his gaze,
Eragon saw a flash of fear and helplessness, quickly followed by resignation, as if
Roran knew that, no matter how fast he ran, he could not possibly reach safety in
time.
A wry smile touched Roran’s lips.
And the wall fell.
Ok... The scary thing is I had been thinking about how crazy Eragon and/or Katrina would go if Roran were to die. Please, Christopher Paolin, tell me that Roran does not die... He's one of my favorite characters!
Though maybe it's just one of his waking dreams... I hope so... Or Galby is up to some trick... GAH! It needs to be November 8th already!
Discuss this and anything else about the upcoming end to the Cycle.

0_o wut?
I mean some people have theorized that this is during the attack on Urubaen (or however you spell that city that Galby lives in that was once an elf city called Illeria... rereading Eldest
)

wait you're lilacfuzz? cool.
and the jalapeno thing was a joke.
I feel kind of sad for Roran if he does die, but Paolini uses those epic twists to make these books so good.

Oh hey thought of this....
Maybe the whole "Sterna Risa" thing at the start of Brisingr is leading up to this
You know? Because the wall is stone and then maybe Roran gets freaked out enough to use magic and says "sterna risa" and saves himself? I hope so! Roran is one of my favorites because...
Katrina wrote:
The are not half so valorous as you. Eragon, Murtagh, Galbatorix, the elves… all of them march into battle with spells upon their lips and might that far exceeds ours. But you…you are no more than a man. You face your foes on your own two feet. You are not a magician, and yet you slew the Twins. You are only as fast and as strong as a human may be, and yet you did not shrink from attacking the Ra’zac in their lair and freeing me from their dungeon.

Great idea! Can he use magic, though?
And wasn't that at the beginning-middle of the first book?
Hurry up Chris! (Somebody commented that on a featured Scratch project, and I completely agree.)

Eh, he can't yet! But remember- the waythey trained the Riders to find the magic was to give them impossible tasks to do. And Eragon didn't discover it until he faced certain death !

Me too
I would be more excited if Brave were to be coming out in November but meh
I've almost constantly been rereading the books since they announced the release date. I started writing down some of my favorite quotes and marking parts that may be forshadowing stuff.
Such as...
Brom mentions in his "narrative" (
) that Vrael was beheaded by Galbatorix with a "blazing sword." Brisingr anyone?
(as in Eragon's sword)
and
Chrisopher Paolini in Eldest wrote:
For Roran was convinced, in his hear of hearts, that the village would soon be defeated. I was a sobering, yet unavoidable, realization
Though evidence points more towards Ayra what with her green eyes and green magic and green clothes (sometimes). And that scene with Saphira in Eldest where she was with Saphira and Eragon remarked something about how they were so similar. And the whole vision in Eragon with the man and woman leaving with their dragons.
of course,
Eragon said:Fathers, mothers, brothers, cousins. It all comes down to family.
I'll make a theory thread closer to November. Or i'll make the first post more broad and change the title.
