Umm, have fun then. I just got back from the beach yesterday, one on the east coast, and it was fun, so maybe not all east beaches are bad.

We have some great beaches on the East coast. Depending on what you consider to be valuable attributes of course. What do you like in a beach?

Pete, its actually very cool. It makes a great surf spot. Plus my uncle lives there, NC is an awesome place. I live in Piedmont, and go to the beach for vacations. Also, I do boogie board.

Um, I think the idea here is talking about beach areas in general (that is, beaches in New England are tied with those beaches located in the state of Washington as being the best).

Personally, I prefer beaches that have some kind of boardwalk area (the more games and shops, the better). Coney Island is my favorite so far since the boardwalk looks great at night, especially on Friday when there are fireworks.

You should try to travel up to Maine sometime this or next summer. The beaches up here are BEAUTIFUL at night. And some of the shops are designed so that you can go in barefoot. Just DON'T try to come to Maine on the 4th of July, it's CRAZY. XD

I like lake Erie, last year when I went there was some pretty crazy waves.
One flipped our inflatable dinghy with 3 people inside of it colepletely upside down about a foot over the water inside the wave. Somehow it landed right way up, and by that time I was the only person in hte dinghy. I jsut drifted to shore.

I've actually wanted to go to a beach in one of the New England states at some point, and Maine sounds pretty nice... now if I can only convince my parents to plan a road trip to get there. XD
