Scratch should be able to export projects as .swf files.
So, we could put it on kong or somthing

I support. This will open scratch right up. Maybe even to proffesional game devs

I support!
I heard that this may be in Scratch 2.0
It should be pretty easy since it will be flash based.

I support! Put this in Scratch Suggestions or even email the Scratch Team about it!
C'mon there should at least be software outside Scratch to convert it.

I support this too! It would be really helpful because I want to show my mum some of my projects and her computer doesn't have scratch.
But you could just upload them to Scratch and give her the link. Still it would be better in Flash

Support, but you do realize you can do this with BYOB, right?

Support, assuming it's possible. I wonder though, is Adobe OK with other programs exporting .swf files? I haven't looked into it.

It is. See Stencyl, which exports stand-alone SWF files. I agree that having it in Scratch would be cool but would take lots of work.

You can do that in STENCYL. It's like a copy of Scratch, but it can export .swf files.
1. They might not want to use stencyl.
2. You can't export scratch projects to stencyl.
3. It's not "it can export .swf files", it's "it creates .swf files" for it isn't playable any other way.

Duuude! I totally support this.
Or maybe for java, but it'd be a little but more messy, with all the .class files and stuff...or if there's only a .jar file then it's okay!

I like this.
