I'm stuck at home and I need to waste a day.
Anything I can do?
It can be on the computer, something you make out of paper, or whatever as long as I don't need to leave the house or buy something.

Not to be pessimistic here, but been there, done that. I'm stuck inside (or at least, I can't play any sports) for at least TWO WEEKS, possibly FOUR. And for the first time in my life, I'm getting bored of the computer.
Sorry, but I cant think of anything for you to do.

Last year I wrote a list of 500 things to do when you're bored, but I lost it!
(Me is a listmaker, yes.) I can come up with a shorter list, however. These are geeky things I like to do (and yes, I am twelve, not eight... I'm not sure how old you are though):
1. Collect random ingredients from the fridge and pantry and create a highly disgusting but edible drink.
2. Or mix water, glitter, food coloring and sequins together in a glass jar. Label the jar “invisibility potion”.
3. Make a fort in your room with sheets.
4. Scribble wildly onto a sheet of paper. Then turn it into something epic.
5. Go on an under-the-couch-cushions treasure hunt. Chances are you may find loose change.
6. Or go on a closet exploration. Go through your entire closet and find things you’d forgotten about from when you were younger.
7. Make a time capsule! Write a letter to yourself ten years into the future, gather together some old things that have some meaning to you (but not so important you can’t lose it for ten years), and draw a self portrait. Then tuck it away in a box in your closet, or the attic or basement if you have one. It takes less time than burying it and it keeps the stuff safer too.
8. Read your favorite books.
9. Make an elaborate 2D house completely from paper.
10. Make a creepy sock doll! Find an old sock, some yarn or thick string, scraps or stuffing, glue, a marker, and buttons or google eyes. Shove the scraps or stuffing into the toe of the sock until you have as big of a head as you want, then tie it off from the body with yarn. Then glue the buttons (or google eyes) on for eyes, and draw a mouth with marker.
11. Recreate old shoes with marker.
12. Gather some stuff together for a future garage sale.
13. Write your own list

Are you sure this isn't some sort of TBG?
@Chrischb: That would require going outside...
@wmays: I don't think I would ever get bored with my computer...

I didn't say he had to get his friends there that day
That would also require him to finish quickly
