I know that New Scratchers aren't allowed to post external links and/or post images.
I was just able to post a link to the Wiki, in this post.
I think there had been a glitch that didn't allow New Scratchers to do this...
Can we also post images from the Scratch website, like user/project/gallery icons and more?
Oh, and I just got the ANNOYING 360 second rule.
360 seconds is a long time. -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- -_-

That would be nice but...
Unfortunatly, they could make the icon something...innapropriate... or for commercial spam. All they would have to do is upload a project with the logo I suppose...

I suppose.

Yeah, unfortunately New Scratchers have a lot of restrictions piled on them because of a few rotten apples. We can't really allow them to post images because, as lilacfuzz said, that leaves us open to people posting dirty pictures and commercial spam. Don't worry though; stay active and you'll be a Scratcher in no time.

I don't know if Harry did. XD
If there is an inappropriate image, there is the report button, right?

Yeah, and the fact that the icon can not be too large...

It's just more automated and easier to leave all the restrictions as they are. Believe me, it helps a lot.
The edit posts restriction must be really annoying though...

TBH, if I want to edit something, it would be better to quote and get another point at being active.

I go on the forums for about an hour at a time. With the extremely obnoxious 360 rule, I easily have a waiting list of 4-10 tabs waiting with something to be posted. And that means I have an extra program running, using to much of the memory and causing lag to all my other programs. The 360 rule should change to 180. It doesn't take me 6 minutes to prepare a post, and it gets annoying. You have to time your posts exactly and then you can get 10 posts in an hour... or else if you go just a second to early, I believe it resets? is this true?
As I said before, the 360 rule is obnoxious.

It is annoying... But it's there for a reason: To slow down the commercial spammers. If they can't post a ton in a short amount of time, it gives the Mods and ST time to clean up and ban the account.
Yes, it is sad that new scratchers have all these restrictions because of a few bad apples.

I am glad I didn't really have to suffer with all these rules for long...I had only been on for just less than a month with 58 posts and I was "promoted." But it amazes me that LiquidMetal who has been on for only 17 days has posted 103 times (at the time of writing)...

i didnt really feel it at all either, because i became a member when the 15 day rule was in effect(you get promoted after 15 days of account creation. Sometimes even the 60 second rule is annoying...

Wait suddenly it is only 180 for me? I'm confused!

360 seconds is a long time, but its there to prevent commercial spammers from spamming up the forums. Its better to have New Scratchers wait 6 minutes than to have a boat-load of spam in the forums.

I know all about that.
You know who I am, right?

180 seconds isn't long compared to the 1000 second rule, or even the 360 second rule that I had when I (Scratcher7_13) was a New Scratcher.

180!? They changed it!?
If they did, I completely disagree.
And it's true that I didn't suffer the rule at all: When I joined the forums, I posted twice and never came back. Then (much later) I started being active and found that I was a full Scratch already.
EDIT
*weeps* *floods house*
I just looked at my post count and I missed the 2000... ;( :'(

Yes, they changed it.
I mean, if I was a mod and got several reports on the same user, I would just click on their posts, open them in background tabs, and run through them -- delete, delete, delete. Ban.

Speaking of new scratchers: is this a new one?
EDIT
No. I probably registered it before the 15 day rule was replaced by manual promotion.
I want not to be one.
