I've cracked it!
And when I say cracked it, I really mean I've avoided the problem, rather than fixing it. 
You see, I had a problem with my up-coming game, but I've just thought of another idea to do instead.

I use IE. So transparent appears as black. And same for other IE users. It's better to use gainsboro.
