I'm wondering if we should completely overhaul the server and purchase more player slots (16-20), start a new world, and switch to a more survival theme.

I had an idea. If we make a new world, at the end of this one we gather up lots of people around a netherack big fire. We then go in a circle around it and chuck all our valuables in it. We then have a dark silent moment where we burn a statue of a creeper.

What do you mean more survival based?  tongue  Liek, no houses, and you run around eating raw pork and punching zombies?
Or more PVP based?
Like, no PVP outside of homes, and walled cities, but it is allowed everywhere else?
Would there be factions?
Would we keep MCMMO?
If so, would we keep our stats?

Oh, and can you add the Demigods mod? I watched a few videos, it looks really cool.

But it would be cool to start again. With everyone equal. And smaller towns. And more traveling on roads.
You know what I think would be awesome? No teleportin' like /home. Or anything like that. IE, /spawn or /back.  big_smile
(Here's the part where everyone hates on this idea)

Yes, EVERYTHING starts over. And I also like the idea of no warps at all, although it might not be popular with everyone else...

Well, after 1.7 comes out, we'll start over with a temporary world and no mods, a completely survival server. (Running 1.7!)

Also, I'm going to distribute the old world, put it up for download.

I'm going to buy 4 more player slots for the server as well, so we have 12 total (if they're needed)

Hopefully remove the whitelist.

Also, I'll advertise on the MC forums.

Then when Bukkit updates for 1.7, the server will go back to Bukkit and we'll get an all-new world, and new mods!  big_smile

With explanations:

what I think is needed:

PvP/No PvP zoning--Obvious, allows for cities.
MCMMO (that's the excavation, mining, archery, etc. plugin right?) Adds RP to the game.


What I think is NOT needed:

Home-Players can improv public/private transport
LWC-same as above
Factions-People obsess over it and try to destroy each other (although war should still be allowed, just not with stakes)


Maybe a warp system between towns?

We'd have PvP everywhere except spawn (and possibly towns, if we get them).

So, it's like this:
Wilderness: Pretty much anything goes except griefing...
Towns: Safe areas.

We'll probably keep mcMMO, but reset stats. (EVERYTHING new)

No factions, because that just seems kind of ridiculous with a small server like this, and everyone just gets angry about them.

We should keep LWC though, because it's just a good precaution. People should protect their stuff.

Should stealing from unprotected chests be allowed?

I still would prefer to have people protect stuff themselves. (or maybe they could rent out one of my bank vaults  tongue  )

Probably better keep it.

I just think that it'd be a good idea to have LWC as a stealing protection.

Maybe it would be better not to have chest protection, make people have to think about where to hide chests...

The demigods plugin I'm not sure about yet.
