Scrolling Sprite

I'm making a side-scrolling racing game, and i need to know how to make a sprite come through the screen every about 5 or so seconds. Many thanks, tcvondey

thanks, but i have put this off for a while. I am now making a stick arena (TM) spinoff (more selective, singleplayer, and child-friendly (using pre-selected laserguns instead of picking up deadly weapons such as sledge-hammers, and hand-pistols)) I've posted a new topic, because i'm stuck  tongue  i need to know how to make computer players. and another about me asking, "How do you change from a self-created wait screen to a playing field, filled with complete playing field, selected character, and a random computer player" if you could just post replies on this topic, that would be great!
