I've heard of many a bad argument on this wide internet, and I want to try to stop it. I present you with tips on how to argue your point better.
1. Never attack the person! This is like invoking Godwin's Law. If you have to attack the person, you really don't have that good of a point.
2. Don't use the First Amendment as a defense- Yes, you may have a right to say something obscene (as an example), but you get to pay the price.
3. Chewbacca Defenses (long rants that have nothing to do with the rest of the deabte) are frowned upon.
More to come...

Something that I find useful is: always being right.

Thanks, but I still stink at debate.
I can see both sides; I agree with both sides (or I disagree with both sides). I often bring in a third army to help it out (
) but then it gets closed. xD
So I stink at debate and there's nothing anyone can do about it. ._.

What does that mean?
Having two sides of yourself. Like this:
User1: I think that that means that.
schizophrenic_guy: Yeah me too. No other way.
User2: Well I think that that means this.
schizophrenic_guy: Totally, everyone else is wrong.
And on and on...

That's how I am, and that's not going to change. The person who I talk to last always sounds right. >_<

Like, did you notice how I was on the Antti-Namco side until Max posted his topic, then I was like "Hey, he's right," and now Wave is starting to convince me again.
I fail.
Oh, the Scratch-vs.-Namco RPG was a joke.

Best tip I can give you: know what the other person is going to argue better than they know it. For example (I don't want to start an argument) if a Christian knows more about evolution than an atheist, he/she can easily see problems with the individual's argument.
