Help!

Ok sorry to bother again, but I need help from anybody who knows for a project I'm working on. Ok so it is like a question and then answer problem. So I used the sensing blocks, ask "..." and answer. I tried doing if answer = (operators) not (operators) = (operators) answer= whatever the answer is then broadcast a message but it did not work. SO... Scratch Team, very experienced scratchers, or anybody who has a solution please explain using the Scratch blocks. Actually can you please make a project based on your explanation so like I can use the scripts? Thanks.

Re: Help!

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding just what you are looking for...would it be possible for you to Share your project the way it is now and let us take a look at it?  It's usually a lot easier to figure out the issue if we can see the scripts.

Re: Help!

So your script is?

If answer = (operators)

If operators = operators

If answer = whatever

Then Broadcast ( Answer )

Yeah, your post is a little confusing.

Re: Help!

Yeah, like the other two said, your post is a bit confusing. Are you checking if the answer is equal to something, then if so, broadcasting a message? Are you saying you want it to broadcast one thing if the answer is right and another if it's wrong?

Re: Help!

See these script tidbits you have?
http://i55.tinypic.com/22gaoo.gif
Just get rid of them.  They're going to clog up your scripting, and they won't work.  "Not answer=GeorgeWashington" reports "false" or "true", so that block is actually checking "if answer = false/true", which won't work.

Instead, change these:
http://i52.tinypic.com/30xgzn9.gif

Into these:
http://i55.tinypic.com/2qd0faf.gif
This script checks if you answered correctly, but if you answered anything other than the correct, it runs the "incorrect" scripts.

Re: Help!

Okay, Scratch team, I just want to let you guys know that whenever I record myself (for Sounds) when I finish and press Play, it goes to 0 seconds and does not play. Also, when I press Okay for the recorded sounds a red screen pops up with all this computer stuff lines. there is three buttons I think, Proceed, Abandon and something else. This is not asking for help your music programmed is great anyway.

Try pressing the red dot before you start recording. Then press the black square, then the green triangle. Of course this all depends on if you have a microphone or not.

And the red screen is a Squeak error. Just get rid of it by pressing Abandon. It happens when you do what you did - I get it too  smile .

It can do that if you're not making a loud enough noise (it cuts out silence in the beginning of an audio clip, so if it's all silent, it cuts it all out).  Check if you're being loud enough.
Just press Abandon when you get the computer lines.

But Kileymeister, I put my volume to really high as I was recording a song (Rocketeer) but when I pressed the black square it went to 0 seconds and 0 minutes and I lost the recording and the music was playing pretty loud.

Do you have a microphone? Also did you start with pressing the record button (the red circle)?

I pressed the red circle. How do you determine if you have a microphone because I have no idea.

Just try out some random noises, and see if the horizontal bar in the Scratch Sound Recorder moves in sync with your noises.

Do you have a microphone built into your computer or an external one plugged in? If so, you have a microphone. Otherwise, you don't. You can also sometimes check in your device manager for microphones built in, if you can't tell if one is there.

No bars.
