Just curious, which is your favorite Video Game Design software or tool other than Scratch?

I use Ruby, Inform, and used to use Alice.

Stencyl is the only one I know that actually allows proper game design... I've tried game maker and it was too full of ads and expensive.

That's hard. Either Unity or Python, but from what I've seen, Stencyl looks good, too, but I don't have it.

I think Stencyl. Runs in flash (so its really smooth), easy to program and u can earn $$$ from it!

vb.net is good for it's ease of use and can closely rival the other .nets. Plus you can also make 3D games as it has direct x support.
Hmm. Would anyone buy a text based game with a command prompt like interface written is vb.net?
