Has anybody used DS Game Maker?

I'm thinking of getting it. Is it worth it? Have you bought the kit for it to play games on the DS?

I tried it once, I don't think it's that good.

Re: Has anybody used DS Game Maker?

It's pretty cr@ppy. I would not recommend buying it.

I could never get anything to work, even w/ the paid version, and I bought it waay back when. It still isn't the best, and the guy who made it is kinda shady. He deletes forum posts that disagree with him, or put bad rep on him. That's why I left.

Re: Has anybody used DS Game Maker?

Yep! I use it daily, and in fact that's what I'm using to make that game.  wink

The kit is very worthwhile.

It's like Game Maker but more advanced, but there's a good tutorial on the website.

I must give you a warning - the minichip is very easy to lose. Get lots of micro-SD cards and download the system files to all of them, that way it doesn't matter so much if you lose one.

I don't go on the website very much so I can't tell you very much about the website.

Don't listen to the person who you replied to. They just didn't get it to work very well on the computer, they should download the new version.

No problem.  smile

I live in the USA and it only took a couple weeks for the kit to get there from England so I think you should be OK.

Ahem. I used it for quite a while. I did eventually get something working, but I forgot what. I went to the forums, no one is helpful there. Not one person. They all treat you condescendingly, not wanting to help new people out. The program itself requires not only a DS emulator to run your games, but a heck of a lot of other downloaded things as well. It's a pain to do anything right in that program, one mistake, and you have to start from Scratch (harharhar, see what I did thar?).

Good luck trying to get something to work.

I've gotten everything to work the first try. The most recent download had everything included.

Re: Has anybody used DS Game Maker?

The guy who made the program sucks. I've never tried using it but I heard some bad things from the denizens on those forums. I don't think it will work unless you really know what you're doing, in which case you wouldn't need the thing in the first place.

It's ok. The uninstaller doesn't work though. Just a warning.
