Wikipedia has lists for video games sorted by year published.  They link to descriptions - fascinating stuff...

I don't think you're going to get very many people here who remember games from the 70's and 80's, considering most people here are kids too. But it sounds like your teacher is looking for retro and classic style games, like Pong, Pac-man, and old-school sidescrolling platformers like Super Mario Brothers.

Re: 7o's+80's game (school assignment)

Early 80's was the golden era of the quarter-eating console game;  A good many games early in that era were variations on "Space Invaders" - bad guys coming down the screen, good guy moving left to right and shooting up at em.

There are a lot of examples of this done in Scratch - and it's not too ambitious a task to take on.

Asteroids (and Asteroids Deluxe) was a big hit then too, as was Defender and later on, Robotron.

Re: 7o's+80's game (school assignment)

There weren't many video games released in the 70s, the only really popular one I can think of is Pong.

Now 80s games were awesome. For example: the original Super Mario Bros, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and how could we forget - Tetris!

But wait - is your teacher looking for a direct remake of one of those games, or just a retro-style game? Because that's pretty easy. Normally it's a top-down or side view, a solid-coloured background, max 3 colors per sprite (no shading), and (optionally) large pixels. That's all you really need to make a retro game.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Oooh... I think a good one for you to make would be like the 70s game called "Zork", which was a type game.  Look it up.  I think you would like to make your own SCRATCH version of it.
