@skyline: sorry, but you missed a ton... A factorial (9!) is multiplied, not added
A square is a number times itself, not times 2. look at my answers (above yours)Why do you have ssss' name in your signature?
you don't play minecraft do you...

I got something for you.
4x^2+11x+22=0
Factor if possible.
Solve.
Just use the quadratic formula:
x= -11+/- sqrt(121-16(22) )/8
x=-11+/- sqrt(121-352) )/8
x=-11+/- sqrt(-231) )/8
x=-11+/- sqrt(231)i)/8
I could go on, but x is not a very nice number...

Didn't solve it myself, but I'd say it's correct. When plotted on a real plane, the smallest value is 14 (at x ~= -1.3)
In other words, in a real set, S = {∅}

Let's bring some logs and powers in:
For this problem, log=log in the base of x and LOG=log in the base of 5
log(1024)=LOG(625)
this really isn't that hard if you know what logs are.

log5(625) = 4
logx(1024) = 4
logx(2) = 2/5
and then i'm stuck

An equation is two expressions each on one side of an equal sign. I got no better definition.
Woot.
a = undefined.
b = a.
Does b = undefined?

Yes. Transitive property.
if a = b and b = c, a = c.
Rethinking it, b and a could technically be 0...

log(1024) = LOG(625)
log(1024) = 4
x = 1024^(1/4)
x = 5.657
