Here's a picture of my mob trap.
The whole thing leads to the middle which is a straight 60 block drop killing pretty much any unsuspecting animals. I'm evil

Canal system? It would be easier to make a lava blade instead of the drop, more effective but not as fun heres how to make a lava blade.

But then that would destroy the drops, wouldn't it?
I have one that just drowns the mobs, which works fairly well. I imagine that one covers much more area though. Just don't fall in!

Not nesscesarily. The ladder suspends the very tip of the lava flow, so the mobs head gets burned and the drops fall beneath, into a room or collection canal. I have one that works great. Collects a full inventory of tnt in 6 hours.

I need some redstone help. I'm making a drawbridge, but for sake of time, I'm not including the opening system in this drawing, but just remember that redstone torch (V), when on, opens the drawbridge. I want it so that both lever (A) and (B) can open and close (V). Here's what I have currently, where one lever functions as more of a lock. - = redstone wire
A------------- D.BRIDGE - D.BRIDGE - D.BRIDGE - D.BRIDGE - V - - - B--------

I can't answer your question, but theres plenty of redstone tutorials on youtube. Captainsparkles did one using a drawbridge for the 1.6 update.

I'm not sure how you would set it up to get both levers to simply toggle the state of the bridge, but you could have a button set up linked to a memory cell and a time circuit. The button will link to the memory circuit, holding the charge until you cross. Meanwhile, you have a time circuit with redstone repeaters that delays the signal for x amount of seconds, then links to the other part of the memory cell, closing the bridge.

I've just downloaded Minecraft ( ), and I've been playing for about 3 hours. I've got the basics, but is there anything important I need to know, or any tips you could give me? Thanks.

Well, I had a real hard time of it before I checked out a beginner's guide. (I died out in the open with no weapons my first night, and my second night was spent hiding in a tiny, unlit hole in the sand.) You seem to be doing alright though if you've been playing 3 hours and aren't too concerned. You should consider checking out the wiki as it's a great reference for items, mobs, and crafting recipes.
