Not all fossil fuels will run out in 50 years - oil could run out in approximately this number of years, but coal will stay around for longer.

No. The Bible says NOBODY will know the end of the world, therefore, your statement is false. My dad is a pastor  wink

Yes, no one knows the day or the hour (Matthew 24:36, Mark 13:32).

However, there is a mention of 1000 years of peace. The three dominant theories are postmillennialism, premillennialism, and amillennialism.

Now, I wouldn't say that. This guy may seem silly to us, but he really believes this will happen. He has convinced himself, and many other people, that the world will end soon.

I personally, though, don't believe that this will happen. All I have to say is this: Matthew 24:36.

I believe one of them said something like the end of the world being around year 7000 on the Mosaic calender. But last I checked the Mosaic calender has yet to pass 5500...what are they talking about? These guys/this guy must be (an) utter cook(s).

Yes, but it still says a 1000 year reign with Christ. Read Revelations again.

Re: October 21st, the End of the World

No, MAY 21st. Anyway, we survived it. Why is it always 21? Camping said May 21st, 2011 (but I'm still alive!), and the Mayans said December 21st, 2012. However, Camping made a theory that the world would end in 1994. And then again someone predicted the world would end in 1997. Then 2000. Then Camping strikes again in 2011. The Mayans predicted December 21st, 2012. Anyway, here's a blog post that shows a few reasons why this thing won't happen: http://tb101tv.blogspot.com/2011/05/may-21-2011-21-reasons-it-will-be.html

I don't believe in this thing at all. I used to go to church though, even though now I don't (but I'm not really an atheist, despite what I said in the comments of the post). Only one thing to say: Matthew 24:36

"There is NO CHANCE humans can start floating up into the air on their own with the force of gravity acting on them. Hooray for the Laws of Physics!"

Uh... Obviously God can make people fly if he wants them to. Most of the things on that list aren't very good reasons for the world not to end.

Re: October 21st, the End of the World

Some people predicted 5 May 2000, where the planets line up and their gravity picks on Earth. It actually happened, but we stand still --- the gravity was weaker than the moon's gravity (I think).

Um... well OK, but not SCIENTIFICALLY. We have the force of gravity. It changes, but it won't change so drastically to the point where we will fly up.  hmm  Not for now, at least.

Re: October 21st, the End of the World

Alright, there are a lot of inaccuracies here at this moment.

First of all, gravity does not change, per se. Gravity is the whole of the pull between many different objects. The attraction does change relatively objects' mass, density, etc., however, "gravitation" is just a fundamental force, it cannot simply change, so let's keep gravity out of this. Second, if you're going to rant about what god can and can't do, well, religion cannot be proved or denied as long as there are so much stubborn people that aren't open to discussing it... It would be best to keep religion out of this too. Furthemore, I've seen these bizzarre posts outside of Scratch about the sun becoming a black hole, etc... That is most likely the stupidest thing a man could think of, because the Sun isn't large enough to be a black hole in the first place, and even if it was large enough, it would: 1. Deny us from existance, 2. Take a Sagan of years to become a black hole. None of this is the case. Also, planets lining up? This cannot logically take any effect because this has obviously happened numerous times during the existance of the universe (I.E. ~14 billion years) and the Earth is obviously still existant... If you guys are seriously afraid of an astronomical mega-object that is so large it could pull us up to flight, well... The Sun is basically the Earth times 100. This, of course, isn't felt that much, because the Sun is approx. 149,597,900 kilometres away from us. What would happen if some object the size of the Sun came to us nearer than that? Simply put, it wouldn't... Not only that will be extremely visible, but -- the second nearest star to us (the Sun is the nearest) is Proxima Centauri which is 4 lightyears away from us; one lightyear is almost 10 trillion kilometres... If the second-nearest star is that far away, how far away is the currently most-dangerous object? I'll let you answer that.

Re: October 21st, the End of the World

Indeed. However, relatively, it DOES change. Also, IMO, religion is just understandable explanations for scientific issues (e.g. no one really knows about human evolution so we have "In the beginning God created the heavens and Earth", etc., or the legends of the Greek gods)- if God really can make people fly (like martianshark said), it would not be scientifically accurate, and then this wouldn't be an explanation for a scientific issue, it would be just some sort of fantasy.

Anyway, all this ranting about what God can do or can't do is getting boring, just like what Vurb said. His explanation is correct- let's follow it.
