Maybe pistons stacked on top of each other, so one will raise another, raising another and so on? I'm not sure if pistons can move other pistons though.

I believe they can. Pistons can make any block (except air blocks and possibly bedrock blocks) move.

I think it would be good if you could move bedrock, because then you could flatten a bedrock area, yet not get through it (because you can't place them up-side down.

Piston pipeways could also become an alternative to storage minecarts.

Also, I wonder if pistons could push (not block) water. A proper plumbing system would be great for my skyscraper.

The original mod ones did, thats what I'm sad about the proper ones not having, and if lit TNT acts the same as the sand in the video, then it'll not go work like the original.
