Apparently they want you to buy one...

I hope you don't mean my mockup.

"8"...that's what they want you to think.
Personally I like it, but i don't think I'd find myself wanting to use the tiles interface very much. Microsoft needs to work on improving their file manager and Windows shell, not throwing it out completely because they think people are too dumb to manage their own folders. That said, I think the interface would look awfully snazzy on a tablet.

I will ALWAYS use Windows XP with Chrome. You'll be able to use any browser you want, just like Windows now. What gave you that idea? Personally, I like the look of this, at least more than Windows XP. To be honest, XP is rather ugly.
I'd rather have functionality of looks, if it works well, then fine, looks can come later.

Well, same here. I just thought it was ironic he was complaining about appearance when he uses Windows XP.

Agreed. They made some huge improvements in Windows 7 and I really hope that carries over in Windows 8 and beyond.

Why don't you suggest to remove it instead of complain? It makes almost no sense.

You still working on the full mockup, I want to see the rest of the picture, it looks amazing.
@fg123
I don't think using scratch would do it justice, not programming wise, but graphics wise,

Same.

I mostly use XP because I like it. I don't like all of this new technology and stuff. I'll live in the past as long as I possibly can

I felt the same way about the quick launch toolbar being ditched in Windows 7, but I've learned to do the same thing in other, arguably better ways and don't really miss it.

I don't like it. I'm keeping my Vista.

This is when you realize that you really need to start looking over osdev.org
Windows 7 was a good improvement to Vista, which was in turn a big improvement to XP.
But Windows 8 looks really different, harder to use (it's like iOS's "intuitive" platform) and moving towards an Apple-style approach to computing.
The mockup you made looks really great, finish it and submit it to MS!

7 was an improvement to Vista, but they really failed IMO with the taskbar. Everything else is good.

Vista and 7 are the opposite of improvements to XP in my opinion.

That's like saying Mac OSX forces you to use Safari.

What does that have to do with anything?!
We are talking about a video where it has been assumed that the only Internet browser the machine will support is IE. Try to understand the topic before you post please.

Then why don't you understand that in Windows 8, it can be inferred that
It is forcing you to use Internet Explorer?
Mac doesn't force Safari. The statements are in no way similar.

Are you kidding? I love the new taskbar! I use the new jumplists feature all the time.
And I really don't understand where everyone is getting the idea that you'll only be able to use IE. I don't think Microsoft would ever do something like that after that antitrust lawsuit fiasco all those years ago with IE, and it doesn't even make sense.

Well, you can't see the title's of the windows. Yes, windows. This "Windows 8" doesn't have windows.
What "antitrust lawsuit fiasco?"
