Scratch

I guess, but it can't automatically set you to Scratcher, because spammers can create an account, wait, then spam. 

This kind of defeats the purpose of the New Scratcher status and manual 'upgrade' process, no I don't support such an idea. As ihaveamac mentioned, it wouldn't be that hard to make a bunch of throwaway accounts, wait a while, and then start spamming.

What I mean is that if you are active at least around 5+ posts a day every day, you could be promoted with little stuff, etc. until you have all of the abilities of a Scratcher. I might have my thinking hard drive turned off, though. STUPID POTATO. >:[

Just let the Scratch Team change you manually. Not that hard. Just stay active on the forums and the main site.

As has been said, the upgrade process is manual. I don't want to think of the work it would take for the mods and ST to manually upgrade every person in increments. There's also the added issue of adding all these new ranks.

They're posting to voice their opinion. A mod will come around and close this soon enough, but until then, there's nothing wrong with people giving their input without realizing you've requested that the topic be closed.

Yeah, unfortunatly it would lead to more commercial spammer issues 
and i hope you continue to post more stuff in character!
