There's this one mod, Kitcat, that ported the Squeak VM onto a DSi, so that it opens .image file. It might be interesting to look at.

hey, I was thinking for the iPhone version, you could have a little bar at the bottom with a single block, and when you click one of the left-right arrows, the next one pops up. there would still be the 8 categories. this feature could be useful for smaller devices. I might make a mockup.... later
