Awesome! Thanks! This will officially start when we get a few more people.

I might join if I knew more about what the animation/game will be about. I've read the script, yet I don't really know where the project is going.
Sounds good though.

Ah. Forgot to mention that.
Put simplistically, my idea was that the goal of the game is for the boy to find his way home. The butterflies help him along the way. Part of his adventure could include finding objects in a forest (scrolling), little puzzles and challenges along the way, etc. I'm still developing the idea though.

I'm assuming you want the butterflies to follow the player, and I'm assuming it will be a platformer. I'm working on the butterfly motion, so I'll upload it soon.
EDIT: Here is the test.

Awesome!
First, a clarification: I was actually thinking this was to be an x-y scrolling game. Sorry, I added that to this forums first post.
Second: I love the movement test! At first glance, I think it might look a bit better if the butterflies went in wider circles/loops around the main character. It also looks a bit strange when you move and the butterflies go exactly at your speed, but I'm not sure how that could be improved yet...
EDIT: Added a to-do list to the top if you are ever looking for something to do.

Updated the motion, but I might change the edge detection script.
Use the same link, but it doesn't work online.![]()
I love the butterfly movement! This may change when we get some butterfly sprites, but for now I would leave it as is.
As for the wall sensing, lets keep working on that.
Thanks for all the hard work!

Oh, just had an idea for wall sensing!
What if you used a strategie like:
[blocks]
<when green flag clicked>
<forever>
<if><key[ left arrow ]pressed?>
<if><touching[ wall sprite
<change x by( 2
<else>
<change x by( -2
[/blocks]
Or something along those lines.
Did that make sense?

Thats great! A few problems though:
1. The butterflies aren't always visible. My guess is that it's because they aren't always at the front of the screen.
2. Make sure your using the most updated version of the butterfly motion as it seems like the one you're using is outdated... check out wmays newest version.
Thanks! I'll upload that version to the website soon.

I updated it. It still has a bunch of bugs, but it now works online.

The draft of the script is on the website (the link is at the top of first page) so you can start working on that if you'd like. When you finish your edits, is there a site you could upload the document to? If you can't upload to a website, just paste it into a post here.
As for voice acting, that will have to happen when the script is finished.
Thanks for joining!
